Skool Chronicles

This is about my school life...the interesting events that took place. Not for the public to know of me or for fame, but this is to help me remember... the days I had in school. (you might want to read from the bottom up. this isn't in order)

School Starts 2007!!!

School Started well this year. We have a new bunch of teachers, their lessons are quite enjoyable (every now and then). The CAs are approaching and its time to revise (soon). The pain...This year, it is so,, it is so,, ... SCARY. Once the teachers started teaching 'proper' lessons, we were somewhat hit with a bombshell. We had SS projects-three of them, a mystery story, lots of homework and so many 'mini projects'. We even have to start preparing for our DSA portfolio. Further more, we have our own interests, fun time (relaxation time), revision, etc. We are losing our time!!!

I wonder... when Mrs Rajan will come back...?

PE Teacher

Like the Chinese teacher, the physical education teacher is a nightmare. Well, in the first half of the year we had Miss Khoo as our PE teacher. But it all changed when we were told our beloved teacher will switch. So from then on, we lead a life of the strictest control during PE. She scolded my friend for BEING CHEERFUL! All he did was jump on the spot. Did he do anything wrong? No.

And another time we saw her littering. She threw a piece of tissue on the floor after blowing her nose. I'm not exaggerating. She did it! We did not dare to open our mouths. She was strict, as I had told you.

Really strict.

Wormy

It was a fine sunny day. Every Wednesday, there will be some stay-back-in-school thingy called IRS. And between the dismissal at 12 and the IRS at 2, we'll have 2 hours of fun. Yup, 2 hours of lunch, drinks, ice and freeze, running, fun. All without teachers.
And during that two hours on that fine sunny day, we committed a sin. All of us were in it. A sin that could not be forgiven...for we had taken an innocent life by torturing it.
It all started when we were having fun at the big pond. There was a stone walkway across the width of the pond, where there were water cress floating in a corner and koi swimming around. One of us then discovered a caterpillar squirming around chomping on a water cress leaf. And when we lifted the water cress, we saw a few butterfly eggs. Our minds then told us we were kids and we decided to carry the water cress and bring it over to where the koi was.

And then the caterpillar was inhumanely shook down into the pond, where it wriggled helplessly. The koi realised it was there and began poking at it. So we used a leaf and brought it over to the side, in an attempt to let it climb up and be saved.

At that point in time only a few of us were left on the stone walkway. So I left. A few minutes later I returned to the pond and was told that...

It had drowned.

And so we mourned the worm:

Worm, O Worm, we would bow down to apologise... We have caused your existence to perish... May you forgive us for commiting this sin... As we are truly sorry... Not afraid to be punished by God... You were innocent, but we harmed you... You were helpless, but we tortured you... Your life was at risk... And yet we went on with our mindless act... I would shed a tear to think of you... I would bow down to say sorry to you...

All I want to say...

Is that we, all of us in the class, truly love you.

Please forgive us.

Reaction

Referring to the post "The worksheet"...
Well, unfortunately the chinese teacher did not collect the worksheet. Bad. Okay, if she does sometime later, I will write in about it again. See ya.

Nicole

Ah, Nicole is one girl that all of us just can't stand! She is smart nad clever. That's why she gets good results. And all this had gone into her head and made her really:
1) boastful
2) self-centred
3) like to shout
4) like to command others

Oh, dear. I can hear her loud voice in my head shouting at me to shut up and stop this nonsense. Everyone hates her. Even her best friend confessed. All the girls, who were normally quite close detested her.

By the way... criticising others can go so far as to I would create a website for it. If you hate someone you can go to... http://www.the.name.of.the.person you hate.youarelame.com

The Worksheet

Again, Chinese! It was compulsory for all of us to order a sort of weird magazine that has work inside for us to do. And the answers of the previous issue will be provided. But this issue...I think there was a printing error. The worksheet we were supposed to do had the answers right beside! And the good thing is, the teacher had NO IDEA that we were actually copying from the same book! Again, it was good trust among us that prevented the teacher from knowing about it. None of us talked or whispered. Not one, not even Eugenia the "teacher's pet", would tell. I wrote this on the day it happened, today, so i'll be posting tomorow on the teacher's reaction on knowing that all the answers were identical and perfectly correct!!

Chinese spelling plot

As said before the chinese teacher is our detested teacher. And on Tuesdays there will be chinese spelling test. The previous Monday it was a holiday. Therefore many of us in the class had forgotten to learn it (excluding me; my mother reminded me). The word was spread quickly among us like a wildfire out of control. We would tell the teacher, every one of us, that we had forgotten to learn for the spelling test. It was a good one, everyone helped. It was really unfortunate, the plan had failed. We chorused to the teacher, but to no avail... And it was good that I had got full marks for the test, but others who could not be helped have to bear with a failing mark.

I had to pity them.

Chinese Teacher

Chinese! The most dreaded of subjects. And the teacher! Even more horrible! I shall not name her... if she sees this I might get a pounding. There is a silent secret kept from the teachers that all of us detest this teacher. It is only after the exams or the first day or occasionally that she is nice. This has therefore led to us constantly trying to either keep away from her, trick her or some other thingy. The normal chinese class (there is higher and normal chinese classes) is one; whatever plan it is we are willing to take part in.

The months that followed...

It was a few months after the first day. I got to know many of my classmates and some from the other class too. And my school bus friends and some of those in the gifted program. So far nothing much happened. It was sometimes boring, sometimes interesting and there were ups and downs in my life.

First Day

Yup... the first day in this school. See, I passed the giftedness test, and now i gotta switch to another school. I shouldn't name this school or any of the teachers or schoolmates except a few best friends I guess, to be safe. How I miss my friends back in the old school! They were kids at heart; they never grow up. That's what's good about them I guess.... they never say words like "you're lame" or "I don't friend you". And the friends in this new school are the opposite. Except for my best friends here -- Kian Wei, Yu Gene, Alvin.

Ok, back to my first day in school. I had to wake up at 5 to catch the school bus. It wasn't really a coach type of bus -- it was a small van with no seatbelts and squezzy seats. It smelled of wood from the square stool in the corner. There were already some of my schoolmates in the bus. And along the way to school a few more boarded. They seemed like they had known each other for quite some time; they welcomed each other like buddies. And so they cracked some jokes until we reached school. I didn't know them, of course, but I can't help overhearing some of their jokes and laughing.

In school. The routine was very much different. And it was huge. There was an indoor basketball court (or IBC), a parade square, a soccer field and many rooms and corridors and chairs and tables and even open, empty spaces. I have decided this school was too huge for my liking. The previous school was small and tidy. It was the same old familiar thing that we saw daily that made it so. And so I got to know the school and got used to the life there.
